State of the Union: Version 'Twenty Ten'

Dear Airbourne In-Forums Readers,

I don't pretend to be anything that I am not. I consider myself fair and balanced, but many of you standing from the outside looking in may tend to disagree. I truly don't care, but I would like to assume that those reading my entries twenty years from now (nothing gets deleted on the inter webz) will understand that my opinions were recorded in history as an attempt to bring to light the things I truly believe would make our country a better place.

I would like to share some quotes with you:

As an antidote, he now wants a three-year spending freeze on about 13 percent of the federal budget. This portion of the budget has seen an almost 20 percent increase during the past two years, not including gigantic boosts in the stimulus bill. The freeze is supposed to save $15 billion next year, but Obama called in his address for a new “jobs bill” that, in the House, has a price tag of another $150 billion. The freeze, in other words, is a simulacrum of fiscal restraint painted in red ink.

This is a quote from an article on National Review online, speaking towards President Obama's State of the Union earlier this week. Let me just say, that this is absolutely fantastic to me.

We will cut back on $15 billion here...but spend $150 billion here. I am all for creating new jobs in the market, as it is clear we will need them. But what I am not for is creating jobs just for the sake of creating jobs. I want jobs that are relevant to what is needed by the people, not by the government.

Let us continue with another quote:

Obama noted that we had a budget surplus of more than $200 billion in 2000, and a deficit of more than $1 trillion before he took office. It’s true that the fiscal picture deteriorated dramatically with the recession and the Troubled Asset Relief Program, prior to Obama’s ascension. But Obama’s historic spending spree and ever-growing entitlements are what create the current $1 trillion deficits as far as the eye can see.
This quote is from the same article and speaks towards Obama's spending spree. I hear people argue this all the time, but none of them have the facts. The fact of the matter is, in one year Obama has basically doubled what was done in 8 to our deficit. I hear people argue the job market has rebounded...and my simple response to them is your wrong. The job market has steadily gotten worse. In fact...the only reason the unemployment rate has begun to level out is because less people are "actively looking" for jobs. Meaning our jobless rate still grows, but because the government continues to extend the "welfare" time for unemployment we have less people ACTIVELY looking for jobs.

This brings me to what I believe our government should truly be doing. I am all for improving our health care system. As a conservative I can admit it is broken for those in need. The first step however to helping this country is giving people the means to take care of themselves without relaying on a government system for assistance. That starts with jobs. Over the last year there has been a battle that resembles something out of the movie 300. The Jack Asses and the Elephants going neck to neck over both a stimulus package that was more reckless spending and a health care plan that would turn out to be a huge burden on society if it were ever passed.

In that time our job market went from 7.7% in Jan of 2009 to 10% by December of 2009, yet our current administration is telling America that they are doing everything in it's power to correct our current spiral into poverty. By spending reckless amounts of money? We are being told the economy is taking a turn, while being fed numbers that mask the true situation we are in. A year ago Vice President Joe Biden made the statement that you need to spend money to get out of debt. I laughed at him then, but I will admit I am no longer laughing. I am close to tears. The focus of our government for the year twenty ten and beyond should be to repair what has been broken. I don't care who broke it. I don't care if it the Jack Ass's think it was the last administration and if the Elephants claim otherwise. I want action!

I want Obama to get the frig off health care and focus on the best way to get Americans Jobs. And not just any jobs. I don't want America to turn into China where the only types of jobs available are middle class labour functions. If we are going to spend money we need to spend it correctly. Spend it on developing new technologies to improve the world. Do so by putting people through education so that they can in turn use their knowledge for the greater good of America. We need to stop trying to make the world love us, and be selfish again, because at the end of the day...we were the ones that always stepped forward to help others. And if we as a country are too broken to help ourselves we will be left to crumble like Rome.

I don't know what we will get from Obama for twenty ten, but I know what I want and I know what I don't want. I don't want extended welfare for those to lean on. I don't want a big government that has made it's way into my home. I also don't want to be lied to anymore. I don't want your false numbers and I am tired of hearing Zombies pour out false information that the media has fed them. No the housing market has not improved and neither has our economy on a whole. Our government has currently done nothing to stop the bleeding, instead all they have done is drug us so we can no longer feel the pain.

I want a better job market. I want less government spending (for real...not some bullshit to hide your real spending addiction). I want answers as to what we can actually do to improve our deficit. I want a government that actually makes do on their promises, or at least attempts to. If you tell me you are going to give me 5 business days to review a bill before the house votes for it...actually give me 5 days...not less than 14 hours!

This is only a piece of my mind. This is only a small portion of what I believe in. I believe the citizens of this country are beginning to realise what needs to happen and they understand what needs to take place for it to happen.

The government needs to be reminded often that they work for us...not vice versa.

Scott Brown v. Martha Coakley

Dear Airbourne In-Forums Readers,

In an effort to make this a habit that won't be broken here is another post for the night. As many of you probably know, since the death of Senator Ted Kennedy a special election is being held to fill his seat. The two candidates are (R)Scott Brown & (D)Martha Coakley and their fates will decided tomorrow in Massachusetts.

I am not sure if any of my readers are from the Massachusetts area but to be truthful it doesn't matter with what I am trying to get across. Barack Obama as I am sure you can understand is campaigning big time for the now vacant seat to be filled by a Democrat. It doesn't help his Socialist Cause to have a Conservative mind in any office, especially a state that has voted Blue for a Presidential election over the last twenty plus years. That could be very bad news for a man relying that the people will continue to consume his bullshit.

Watch this video below:

This video shows Obama making a statement poking fun at Scott Browns campaign videos. His usual low blows against the other party which he would cry about if done to him. He makes fun of the "slick" video (this coming from the man who backed those video's against Mc Cain last year) and about the truck he constantly references in the video. Either way...below is a quoted response from Mr. Brown which put's Obama in his place:

Mr. President, unfortunately in this economy, not everybody can buy a truck,” Brown said in a statement. “My goal is to change that by cutting spending, lowering taxes and letting people keep more of their own money.
What I find the most amusing about this entire situation, is that Scott Brown is campaigning as a man OF the people FOR the people. A similar campaign was run by our President not to long ago, and now our President refers to that type of Campaign as "Slick". Humourous how his memory is shorter than Ross Perot.

Another interesting fact.

It would seem that Martha Coakley has taken the stance of not campaigning for election, as if this one was already in the bag. I personally hope the people of Massachusetts step up and show President Obama & Ms. Martha Coakley that you can't run a country just off false promises and and some purely whites.

Regards,

JahRootz

P.S

For fun I thought I would add the video that Obama was calling "slick"

2010 is the future

Dear Airbourne In-Forums Readers,

2010 is a new year. It is the foundation of our future. What we do in 2010 will make all the difference for what happens for the rest of our lives. Politically, a change needs to happen. Not just our Commander in Chief but every level below him that filters down to our local governments. Make your 2010 resolution to help open someone's eyes. Not to educate them, but to point them in the direction of education. You can never put your political point of view on another because it is human nature by most who are ignorant to block out the point of view of others. So instead beating a dead horse...bring out your true weapons of mass destruction. The tools to help educate...

Bring out the facts and allow the zombies to wake themselves up.

I promise that 2010 will bring out my conservative beast. I let him hibernate in 2009 after he lost a horrible battle to "Change", but he has woken up hungrier than he was in 2008.
